Review – Alien Stomper VCMP

VCMP (Visual CounterMeasures Project) was a special project between Hanon ShopReebok, 6876 and Call of the Wild back in March ’10.

The project consisted of a weapons-grade pair of Alien Stompers, DVD documentary, XL poster, and printed Bandana/Headscarf – all with a strong ‘anti-surveillance society’ theme, based on the UK’s prevalance of CCTV.

The stompers themselves are quite unlike anything I’ve seen before – the unique treatment of highly reflective Scotchlite leather is it’s main selling point. They’re certainly not a light shoe by any means, and you won’t be running anywhere for any great distance – after all, these are leather versions of the original ‘Alien Stomper’ shoe from back in ’86 – itself a derivative of the BB6600 Basketball shoe.

Nice details include 5 x individually embossed ‘Reebok’ logos on various parts of the shoe, as well as a unique Plato quotation on the inner tongue label (also printed on the included Bandana).

Hanon shop (based in Aberdeen, Scotland) and their colleagues have created a unique and highly collectable pack – and with only 54 pairs created, are worth tracking down. On sale at Hanon-Shop.

More pictures below, including my own pair taken with and without flash 😀
