2004 JW Foster Collection

Continuing Retroboks‘ history updates, here are some photos and press release for the 2004 collection inspired by original JW Fosters shoes. They look like an immaculately researched and executed collection – and it’s great to see Reebok do on occasion acknowledge their heritage.

Early Reebok & JW Foster Shoes

Retrobok continues to investigate Reeboks‘ history with this gallery of JW Fosters’ and Reeboks’ earliest shoes. From the late 1800’s to the 1960’s they clearly show the craftsmanship and early innovation that helped make Reebok the global success it is today.

Fosters Famous Shoes

Retrobok unearthed a superbly detailed article about the history of the Foster family and Reeboks’ roots. 2 facts stand out most: Reeboks’ track success can be traced back to Cricket shoes, and for a short period JW Fosters and Reebok were rival companies.

Retrobok on YouTube

Retrobok now has a YouTube channel! Comprising of themed playlists ; such as History, 80’s/90’s Commercials, and Unboxing videos, Retrobok will expand the channels accordingly. Due to the availability and existence of Reebok Video material, these naturally have a more 90’s US ‘flavor’ in comparison with the more UK-focused news here at Retrobok. Take a look! ~BokOne

Paris Runners – Grey/Paprika

Yep, another colourway of the re-issued 1984 classic Paris Runner. This time over at Swedens’ Urban Clothing – and no doubt a few other places besides. The colourway is certainly very likeable, though may not appear much different from the Primo White and Malibu Blue variants posted here recently. More pics/waffle after the jump.

Cheap Monday x Reebok – Workout Plus / Freestyle Hi Anniversary collaboration

I can’t help feeling that Reebok have somewhat over-done the number of releases celebrating the 25th anniversary of the legendary Workout Plus shoe. Amongst the 15 releases (not helped by the confusing press photo showing 17 designs) were a very handsome pair from Swedens’ Cheap Monday, which were then paired with a similiarly-treated 30th Anniversary of the Freestyle Hi. Confused by all of this? I don’t blame you. But certainly the dual black denim treatment from Cheap Monday does these shoes a lot of justice. I just wish Reebok were a little clearer with their marketing…

Chapter x Reebok – Alien Stomper White/White/Gum

Looking immaculately fresh, and more futuristic than the original Aliens colourway of the Alien Stomper, are these latest collaboration between Japanese Chapter and Reebok. Following on from last years Chapter x Reebok collab, of a stealth Black/Black pair of Stompers these are available for pre-order now over at Chapter. More pics after the jump.
