More LX 8500 colourways in the pipeline

BokTwo reports that over on the Crooked Tongues forum, a user by the name of kidos74 has mentioned another 3 colourways to the LX 8500 – one of which is pictured above – whilst confirming the delayed September drop. Him working for does suggest he knows his oats (though if I was to be honest I’d say thedropdate is somewhat lacking in Reebok updates). All good though — post up your thoughts if you wish 🙂 —BokOne

GL 1500 — More colourways spotted, and fakes…

There’s some mystery to the recent appearance of the new GL 1500 retro shoe. For example: out of these 3 new colourways, 2 appear to be fake. The giveaways are the strange CL-inspired outsoles and tiny Reebok branding window. The mystery deepens as all 3 are apparently on sale from Polish stores, with one store showing ‘out of stock’ and another with a reduced sale price….! If you’re ordering a pair of these: beware. Lots of pics of these after the jump. ebuty butysportowe / e-megasportsurfdome —BokOne  Read the rest of this entry

GL 1500 — White/Excellent Red/Space Grey/Pure Silver

After my post yesterday hoping for more exciting colourways for the new GL 1500 — well my thoughts could not have been answered more immediately. This stunning colourway appears to be directly inspired by the Mens’ 1988 ERS World Road – a particular favourite shoe of mine – right down to the light grey swaybars running up from the midsole. Pre-ordering now from Japans’ Atmos (this ins’t a collaboration incidentally), release date appears to be early/mid July. Click on for more pics, and a side-by-side with the ERS World Road. Thanks to BokTwo for the spot! —BokOne  Read the rest of this entry

LX 8500 Vintage Pack — September 1st release date likely

Release date still a bit faraway? One of my Reebok contacts suggested that September 1st is the likely global release date for the LX 8500 Vintage Pack we’re all excited about. One of Retroboks’ halo shoes? Will it be worth the wait? Absolutely. —BokOne

Classic Leather Utility

Things have been definitely heading back towards the Camo trend in recent weeks, notwithstanding the BTNC X Reebok CL makeups I posted up a few days back. These are Reeboks’ own makeups fitted within the 30th Anniversary remit (and fronting on the tongue label to prove it), I’m not sure these are purest ‘Classic Leather’ with the midsole details though, more like the CL Leather R12’s. But I certainly love the woven textured upper on these, currently available at Swedens’ SNS. More pics after the jump, soldier. —BokOne  Read the rest of this entry

Dee Brown in surprise appearance @ Rucker Park, NYC

Enough said. Pump Omni Lite OG now available from global stores. —BokOne

GL 6000 — Blue/Cement/White/Black

Alongside the rather superb Marathon Pack makeups of the GL 6000’s over at Reebok USA, are these almost mono-tonal makeups of the 27 year old running legend. Very nice indeed – more pics after the jump, or go there directly > Reebok USA. Thanks to Alex for the info 🙂 —BokOne  Read the rest of this entry

BTNC X Reebok — Classic Leather

BTNC – aka Beatnic – are a Fullerton, California-based store now part of the Reebok Certified Network. With that bestowed upon them, they’ve gone a near-full camo treatment on the upper with a flame orange inner and black heel tab detailing. Curious that the tongue label is the stock Reebok Classic + Starcrest emblem, and not the 30th Anniversary nor BTNC’s own design. No specific release date for these, other than ‘late summer’. Reebok Classic — Patriot Pack

RBK Patriot Pack 2

Reebok Classics will soon release the Patriot Pack, featuring Pump Twilight Zone, Question Low, Ex-o-fit Plus Hi, Phase One, Workout Mid and Workout Mid Plus. Reeboks’ own press release states their availability on June 28th (in time for July 4th) but I’ll have you know 2 of these shoes are currently available from PickYourShoes: the blue/white Workout Mid, and the White/Blue Workout Mid Plus. Otherwise, they’ll be available from Foot Locker, Finish Line, Champs, Expressions, DTLR, Shoe City, and Click on for more images. —BokOne  Read the rest of this entry

Hanon X Reebok — CL 30th Anniversary teaser

Not much info on these yet, but no doubt these are a collaboration with Scotlands’ Hanon Shop judging by the tongue label. Really interesting makeup – with what appears to be a contrasting red/black outsole, but how to describe the upper suede panelling… biscuity camo? 🙂 Thanks to Piotr for making me aware of these.  —BokOne

Highs & Lows explain the inspiration behind the CL CTM

Nice video with the HAL guys from Perth Australia talking about their inspiration for the brand new Classic Leather CTM 30th Anniversary shoe. I won’t give it away right here, you can watch the video to find out 😉 —BokOne

Quick look at …

Sometimes we make mistakes. Sometimes they’re big ones, you know — car accidents, messing up relationships or breaking parts of your own body. Sometimes they’re small like thinking a Sneaker site with a huge range of rare colourways must be a fake Chinese site. Within PYS’s Reebok product range of over 1,000 items are some real gems, including many Ventilators and Pumps. Take a look – they even stock LX8500’s 😉—BokOne

Phase I Pro — Vintage White/blue

Looking soooooo retro it hurts – in a good way – is this retro of the 1984 Phase I Pro Tennis shoe. I’m reasonably sure that fans of Retro Reebok Tennis shoes are very rare individuals, but this retro seems so well executed that even I’m excited! Details down to the tongue labels’ visible stitch (as seen on the CL Vintages from 2011 if I remember correctly) suggest this has been a bit of a special project. Currently available from the UK’s Urban Industry. More pics after the jump. “1980-Love” 😀 —BokOne  Read the rest of this entry

Sneakersnstuff X Reebok — Kamikaze II Mid ‘Polkagris’

Really fun video with the guys from Swedens’ Sneakersnstuff (SNS) hand-making traditional Swedish Polkagris – perfectly explaining the inspiration to their forthcoming Kamikaze II Mid collaboration with Reebok. The KII doesn’t usually get coverage here on Retrobok, but it’s such a great example of the international inspirations applied to Reebok collabs that it deserves a post. Thanks to Alex Schuh for making me aware of this! —BokOne
