Forgetting to check the Reebok Korea website once a day is usually a mistake! And here we have, a further 2 colourways in Grey/Reebok Red/White and Black/Raspberry/White. The latter reminds me strongly of an early 2009 colourway in Burgundy, which I’ve always felt was one of the best new 6000 colour makeups.
The big news here is that this — by my count — brings the post-2009 retro close to 50 colourways.
Fifty is an incredible number given that this retro has only existed for around 4 years, and I’m hoping it’s a sure sign of the 6000’s success out there on the street, Asia particularly. I’m curious to know who out there owns every colourway 😀 —BokOne
This Fall/Winter as part of the 30th Anniversary Celebrations of the Classic Leather, Reebok Classics have a ‘Premium Wearability’ theme, collaborating with companies such as Horween, Cordura and Gore-Tex.
The hero model for this themed collaboration is the premium Classic Leather Lux, and to kick things off are these Horween collab editions. The uppers on this shoe are made of Horweens signature ‘Beaufort Chromexcel Leather‘, with leather lacing, pig skin lining and an embossed Horween leather handtag. The Lux is released in 3 colourways — Black, Brown and Oxblood Burgundy.
Available NOW at stores selling the Reebok Classic Reserve collection. More pictures after the jump 🙂 —BokOne
Hypebeast have just reported about a Reebok X Casio X 3.V.0.7 watch which at first appeared to be ‘just’ a G-Shock with additional logo stamps. This pack also includes a pair of CL Camo and appears to be Taiwan-only, limited to just 100 pairs.
What Hypebeast haven’t found out is there is a little more to report here: First, as the post title implies both Reeboks Classic Leather and the Casio G-Shock were launched in 1983, sharing their 30th anniversarys this year.
With this collab pack released under his jewellery line ‘3.V.0.7’, Actor/Singer/Director/Producer Van Ness Wu also happens to be the Creative Director of Reebok (Greater China Division) — his American/Taiwanese heritage cementing this relationship: in short he’s Taiwans’ Swizz Beatz.
There’s more: There appears to be at least 1 additional colourway, scooped from the Reebok Taiwan Facebook page…. click on for more! —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
So with the recent release of the Aape X Reebok Pump Furys, SNS drop their monthly collaboration on September 30th at their own store. Mixing a Goretex upper with brown lacing and camo patterning and it seems like camo is the treatment of the moment — whether these NPC II’s will get the interest of the Aapes I’m not sure, but perhaps they’ll inherit a little of that excitement and do SNS proud. Short promo video below too! Sneakersnstuff (Sweden) —BokOne
In the world of sneaker blogging, the daily ritual of posting the latest links to new (or old!) kicks can result in empty and impassioned content. Nice to see Crooked Tongues waxing lyrical about the LX 8500, explaining a little about what it was back in the day and why it’s an on-point retro. Nothing like some history and emotion to get sneakerheads attention 🙂 Read over at Crooked Tongues —BokOne
Released September 20th at their own stores in Singapore, Limited Edt have done something quite unique for the 30th Anniversary of the Classic Leather with a snake-inspired upper, glow-in-the-dark outsole/details, and reflective piping. The store owners talk to Hypebeast TV, and show off their stunning boutique store. Not often I dare to use underlined text on a webpage but this warrants it 🙂 Limited Edt (Singapore). —BokOne
Garbstore have sent me details of their next drop — 2 more colourways of the CL6000, ‘the lead shoe and main kick off point for the “Outside In” project’. The shoe has different colour arch bandages and suede colours on the out and insteps and is ‘very limited release’ Garbstore —BokOne
For the 30th Anniversary of the 1983 Reebok Classic Leather,
Retrobok approached David Foster with some more questions
to unearth the early history of this now-legendary shoe.
David is the 8th generation of the Foster family — his father Joe and uncle Jeff
started Reebok from the ashes of the J.W. Fosters company in 1958. He was
directly involved in the design and manufacture of some of Reeboks’
most successful shoes in the 1980’s. He now runs his own footwear company.
He was kind enough to take time to answer Retroboks’ questions,
and also speaks his mind. Click on to read. —BokOne
BokTwo spotted the CT forums have disappeared, most likely connected with the recent CT website redesign & rebuild. As B2 says “All that knowledge just gone overnight. Damn shame…“. Let’s hope the forum reappears soon, any comment Crooked Tongues?
Hanon (amongst others) has announced September 21st at 00:01 BST as the release date for the much-anticipated Aape makeup of the 94 Insta Pump Fury. “…all over Bape camouflage print upper. Accented with Embroidered Aape logo on the ankle, moon face logo on the heel pull and a Aape Footsoldier on the heel. Limited Edition.” We already know how good these are… but still worth posting more hot images below. Hanon Shop (UK) —BokOne
Polish sneaker blog Tenisufki yesterday posted an article about the Reebok Fitness Heritage Classics pack showing 4 classic shoes. Now this pack was released back in July featuring 6 shoes – so I’m not going to make any guesses about this until I see further information. But for now, check out these fresh fresh fresh! promo pics 😀 —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
As Retrobok reported in early July, one of the newest colourways for the ‘new retro shoe’ ERS 1500 in Paprika/White has popped up in a few stores (of course, the awesome Titolo), but now there’s a fresher colourway in the form of the Black/Blue/Grey above, available (alongside the Paprika) exclusively from French store Corner Street. —BokOne
So here’s that Burgundy/White GL 6000 as spotted in the recent issue of Sneaker Freaker magazine — it’s a curious colourway for sure, rather mature in a way and with what appears to be a new upper texture. Click on for more pics and store link – they’re available right now in the UK. —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
For those of you mad keen on the Garbstore X Reebok collaboration, Hanon Shop (UK) are now shipping the 3 shoes above — Cl Lthr 6000, Pump Fury and Pump Dual Running as part of the 1st drop of this collaboration. Reports are that the full collection sold out on the launch day at Garbstore in London, though I’ve yet to have that confirmed – they’re still to drop elsewhere so whilst I’d recommend not to panic, don’t hang about either 😀 Hanon Shop. —BokOne
