Now I’d heard that Reebok Classics have quite a number of new Phase III colourways coming out for the 2015 season(s), but I hadn’t realised there were already some out. The 3 colourways shown here (click on to see the other 2) aren’t out of this world, but it’s great to see Classics offer up this shoe again – and there maybe more coming 🙂
The third colourway for Detroits’ The Distinct Life (aka Rick Williams) has just appeared on Hypebeasts online store. Running with the camo-embossed leather mixed with black mesh for the upper, biege (Pebble) suede for the sidestripes – as seen on the previous 2 shoes in this series – and a gum outsole, these look pretty sharp indeed. Remember that we are still expecting a Burgundy colourway from TDL to wrap up this neat and highly-collectable set of four 6000’s.
Just love the simple, retro designs to these posters so had to pop them up here on Retrobok. Also noticing some sweet details with Garbstores ‘Outside In’ designs, such as the outsole pattern print inserts (makes a pretty decent tonguetwister, that 😉 ) Click the jump for the other Garbstore posters blatantly stolen from Counterkicks. —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
Alongside the Respect Pack version of the Fury, Reebok Classics have (fairly quietly) released this tidy colourway, in amongst the ongoing smorgasbord of collab makeups for this 20 year old shoe (and still 20 years ahead of its time). More pics after the jump. Reebok UK —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
UK’s Express Trainers have been a little quiet with true Retrobok shoes for a while, but with Phase III’s recently appearing – a revisit paid off by revealing they’re now selling the CL Trail and Pump Running Duals shown above…. for silly money. If I’m correct, those Pumps were selling for well over £100 on Reeboks official site just a few months back, so at £55 these are a steal.
The CL Trail (not the most flattering photo above, it has to be said) is a genuinely superb ‘new retro’ shoe – inspired by the Classic Leather, but with a waterproof sealed upper, an outsole inspired by the 80’s Fjell Runners and is fleece-lined, superb for cold or wet weather conditions. I’m a big fan of these, and at £33… well, worth adding to your collection. Express Trainers (UK). —BokOne
My good friend Piotr pointed me at this German video taken by Turnschuh.tv at Bright 2014 in Berlin, with the presenter showing off a pair of Ventilator Supremes with the Garbstore ‘Outside In’ treatment applied to them. I’m not a huge fan of the result to be honest, but it’s very exciting to see this rare shoe making a comeback, we may have to wait until next year though as the presenter mentions Spring/Summer season 2015. Hit the jump to see another screengrab of the shoe, and the full Video (Reebok features at 0.55 in the Video if YouTubes never-working Copy URL at Current Time doesn’t do its job).
Thanks again to Piotr. —BokOne
Great to see the OG Court Victory Pump getting a retro, this time with some additional colourway friends in for the ride. The OG colourway is pretty much legendary, running a Wimbledon-esque green with tennis-ball yellow and as the photos below will prove, there’s no harm in tinkering with the classics 😉 No info on release dates just yet – Retrobok will keep its eye on the, er, ball. —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
I’m going to say this straight up: ‘Respect’ is not a positive word for any multinational company to be using, regardless of its theoretically naive and positive intentions. ‘Respect’ within US, Black or Hip Hop cultures has the much darker meaning of ‘Fear’, and I’m not entirely comfortable with Reebok Classics using this. My chagrin aside, this is a collection of Reeboks’ most prestigious and infamous footwear all dressed up in a unified colourway – something it does well, certainly helped by group shots.
Featuring the Twilight Zone, Omni Lite, Insta Pump Fury, Victory Pump, and AXT these should be available shortly from Reebok.com and more global stores. Click on for more images of this pack. Reebok: Tread carefully with your street language. —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
A new colourway of the early-80’s lightweight runner, the Paris Runner, has appeared recently at UK’s END. Nice to see this shoe get a little once-over with this somewhat interesting Grey/Yellow colour mix, though to be honest it’s more of a ‘Custard’ — or to be completely French about this — crème Anglaise 😀 So, the Paris Runner Crème Anglaise it is, then! Available right now, from END (UK) —BokOne
Just spotted some huge discounts at Reeboks official store in Germany — head over there now for upto 70% off shoes, including 50% off the recent LX 8500 colourways (one of which is shown above). Slightly surprising to see such large discounts so quickly — perhaps in celebration of their World Cup win… (congratulations to our German friends by the way 😉 ). Get over there quick! To date there have only been a very small number of collaborations with Reebok Classics on the GL 6000 — one with Japans XGIRL, two with Japans OSHMANS, and two (of a planned four) with Detroits The Distinct Life – making a grand total of five to date. The unisex shoe above adds to this tally. Click on to read more…
Fascinating new collaboration between Garbstore and Reebok Classics with the creation of an entirely new silhouette — the Pump Running Dual Mid.
Part of a 2014 Fall/Winter collection, Garbstore have been killing it with their Outside-In makeups of classic Reebok runners, and this feels like a level above – the first time the Pump Running Dual has had any significant changes since its original 1991 release. 2 colourways are shown and should be forthcoming at Reebok stockists (and Garbstore themselves) between now and December. Click on for pics of the 2 colourways. —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
Now, I’ll have to tread carefully here as I’m not the most knowledgeable on Reebok Classics’ tennis shoes over the years — but I don’t ever remember seeing any with XX NNNN namings before as they’ve usually had the words Court, Pro or, yep, Tennis in them. This RT 1000 feels like it must follow from Reeboks ‘new retro’ releases such as the GL 1500, ERS 1500 and CR 1000 (there’s always a chance that RT may refer to Road/Track – but I’m thinking Reebok Tennis is more likely 🙂 )
Note that these haven’t been released in a White colourway just yet, but I’ll post whenever I see them. Reebok UK —BokOne
And damn… I’ve just remembed the most obvious one: ACT 600. Gah! back to the Retrobok archives for me 😉
