The 25th anniversary of the Reebok Ventilator has brought us a plethora of collabs, colourways and make ups from some of the biggest names in the sneaker fraternity. Reebok has been kind enough to gift us with a pair of the exclusive and very sought after Mastermind (Japan) editions from the duo that was released with an LX 8500. Click on for more. I’ve had some Retrobok visitors contact me with warnings about this site, involving payment taken, goods not delivered, then sunglasses sent instead to appease the unhappy customers. You have been warned! -BokOne
Apparently available in mid-December, this collab with Japanese Zozo features ‘salvaged’ denim, red accents and gold stitching all resulting in a particularly appealing makeup for this legendary retrobok. Very tidy indeed! Thanks to my good friend Dumi for the heads up 😉 More images after the jump. Zozo (JP). —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
Seemingly in a similar spirit to the awesome CL Trail (a personal favourite of mine), the Ventilator EXP sets itself up for wilder weather applications, with black specked midsoles and a Thinsulate inner for keeping things warm and dry. Really liking the colourways on these, currently only spotted on Reebok USA’s website – head over there and pick up a pair pronto, these have presence. Great to see Reebok Classics focussing on some 80’s inspired apparel, with their Reebok Reserve apparel line. Reebok Classics were kind enough to send me one of the fleece tracksuits earlier this year, and the quality shines. It’s particularly nice to see the Starcrest featured prominently throughout, as well as modern twists on the clothing such as the chosen colourways. Available now from global Reebok retailers. With some interesting parallels to the Ventilator Supreme, the 1992 Bolton gets a re-release packing Hexalite in the outsole and thoroughly 90’s upper panel detailing. Releasing in 2 colourways, it’s good to see it available in Asia as well as Europe. No signs of a Stateside (USA) release however. Images via Hypebeast. —BokOne
(Apologies for the lack of activity recently, I have been moving house).
I managed to get a pair of the fascinating Ventilator Mid Boot last week, and yeah… this is a very interesting shoe.
For those of you who picked up a pair of GL 6000 Mids, well these Vents are not as similar beast as you may expect. They offer a looser fit, don’t feel quite as high as the 6000 mids, and have some unique details not seen on standard Vents such as the perforation detailing, a camo booty within the upper, boot laces, and pull tabs (one of which runs all the way up the tongue). I’m really enjoying these, they also offer a pretty sweet silhouette when worn with cargo pants or cuffed pants. —BokOne
