Pickup & Macros — Garbstore X Reebok ‘Pump Running Dual VNT’

GSPRDV (9)

London-based Garbstore have been providing some fascinating collaborations with Reebok Classics, and this curio is no exception. Read on for more bluster and eyecandy

Besides the inside-out mantra you should already be aware of with these collabs, Garbstore have also fused 2 different retro boks together. You may already be more familiar with Garbstores’ CL 6000 a mix of the Classic Leathers’ upper with the GL 6000‘s mid and outsole.

Well in the case of the (deep breath) GS Pump Running Dual VNT, we have the upper of the Pump Running Dual, so – yes – that’s 2 Pump mechanisms on the side uppers, and the mid and outsole of the Ventilator. THEN the inside out treatment is applied, with hand-stitching clearly evident around the Pump mechanisms and heelwraps, but with that final curious twist ; these are Mids.

And these are clearly an autumnal-inspired shoe with a rather fascinating mix of materials: leather toe-wrap and lace locks, suede toe-box, leather heel counter, mesh/leather tongue (the leather on the inside of course!)GSPRDV (3)GSPRDV (4)GSPRDV (6)GSPRDV (10)

Garbstore and Reebok continue a great relationship with fascinating results – the (highly limited) GS Pump Running Dual VNT is perhaps not planted central within mainstream ‘retroboks’, but I’m very pleased these shoes exist at all. —BokOne
