Pickup – Mastermind X Reebok Classics Pump Fury

IMAG3484

Excuse the hurried and less-than-spectacular photos, but these tidy Mastermind x Pump Fury collabs arrived last week and I’m loving them. Read on for more prattlequack and (somewhat amateur) sneakerporn.

My love for these Masterminds is where personal opinions will quickly differ: Agreed, the collabs (including the LX 8500 and Ventilator) are not imaginative at all – in a black Ballistic upper with only minor white blocking on the midsoles – the only standout details are the Skull and X-Bones on the heel counter and Pump itself.

And yes, basically that’s it. You can either praise Mastermind and Reebok Classics for delivering the understated, perfectly; or you can be of the opposing opinion – that the Fury should never be dressed down and should always scream its presence in high-vis colours and patterns.

The reason these work for me so well is that, at a certain age, a pair of those OG colourway Furys are harder to pull off without looking and feeling a little awkward. Sure, the Furys’ attitude should never be dimmed, but right here and right now these Masterminds take pride of place in my collection and I’m proud to admit it.-BokOne
