Fascinating article over on Hypebeast about Reeboks acquisition by Adidas, and its various ups and downs since. Some big statements in here which I certainly don’t wish to cast doubt on, but offer food for thought – and some tightly crossed fingers for the future of Reebok Classics output.
Reebok is a company with a very rich heritage in sports like basketball, football, baseball and tennis. They have a back catalog of classic sneakers second to only Nike …
Also pleased to note that the article was written by Scott at DeFY New York – a goldmine of a sneaker site which contains many retrobok-related treasures. Anyway, hit the link and read on. Interesting stuff.
Now these are on point. Swedens’ WoodWood has added its own touches to one of Reebok Classics most aggressive silhouettes; the Ventilator Supreme. That midsole inner is still a killer feature, but it’s actually the black outsole treatment that neatly accentuates that rearward bulge on the outer – and the circular mesh detailing on the upper paired with the hiking style laces seals the deal.
One of my favourite makeups this year – and it’s been a bloody great year. Jump for more images & store URL. —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
Curious treatment to the venerable LX 8500, this. Always pleased to see womens makeups of Retroboks, so it’ll be interesting to see how popular this Rose/Clay/Stone/Chalk colourway proves itself to be. The lizard/snakeskin texture and nubuck upper helps explain the exotics name. Hit the jump for a couple more images and the store link. —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
Reebok Classics have used the canopy name recently on a makeup of the ‘Canopy Camo’ Furylite, but this time with the Ventilator Supreme a more matted treatment is applied: I really like these, and I famously hate green sneakers normally… Hit the jump for more cuffed ankle shots and store link 😉 —BokOne Read the rest of this entry
