CL — Reebok x Mita

Following a similiar design approach to the ‘Frank the Butcher’ CL collabs by breaking up the panelling these Mitas’ are a curious addition to the ongoing 2013 Classic Leather 30th Anniversary releases. More waffle + pictures after the jump.  Read the rest of this entry

Burn Rubber x Reebok – ‘Spirit of Detroit’ Classic Leather

It has to be said, there’s some surprisingly original treatments to the 30 year old Classic Leather appearing recently — and this is certainly right up there on the freshness scale. Rick and Roland of Detroit-based Burn Rubber have collaborated with Reebok to produce these Blue, Cream and Gum beauties – even just saying the colourway makes them sound damn tasty! Here’s a video via HypeBeast explaining the collab and their own history ;

CL Trail – Blue Sport/Black/Nacho (30th Anniversary)

I’m liking the colourway title for these almost as much as the colourway itself 😀 I’ve got a pair of the first wave CL Trails in Black/Orange/Grey and they’ve become a regularly worn favourite, especially in the cold of a UK Winter as they have a fleece inner lining and a chunky sole inspired by the ’87 Fell Runner. Now available at Reebok UK [Note – Titolo currently stock a similiar pair but with a black toe wrap instead of the all-over Blue, and Sivasdelcalzo stock a pair with black toe wrap/heel counter and yellow midsole] ~BokOne

Classic Leather 30th Anniversary – Vintage Suede Pack

There’s now an abundance of CL makeups appearing, celebrating it’s impressive 30th birthday. I remember back in the day, the pure-White only Classic lived up to it’s name perfectly – it was quite a standout shoe at the time in amongst the more serious runners. However, as regular visitors are probably well aware I’m not the biggest fan of the Classic due to its’ tarnished image in the UK since ’83 but these 30th Anniversary treatments are mostly looking the part. No release dates for this nearly Red White and Blue (or is that ‘Tricolore’?) trio announced yet, but no doubt it will be soon. Via LeSiteDeLaSneaker ~BokOne

Sneakersnstuff x Reebok CL 30th Anniversary Edition

A pretty smart, Wintry treatment to the 30 year old Classic ; SNS have done a great job with these – featuring PlayDry and Thinsulate in the inner lining (remininscent of the CL Trails which I highly recommend if you’re in colder climes). There’s also a nice accompanying video of Peter and Erik talking about their partnership with Reebok, and history of their nearly 13-year-old store. Hopefully I’ll be in Stockholm later this year, and hope to say hi to the guys. The SNS Classic was released on Saturday. Sneakersnstuff (Sweden) ~BokOne

Classic Leather BRK SC – 30th Anniversary

The actual Reebok Classic is rarely featured on Retrobok due to endless low-end reissues, and whilst the BRK SC shown below looks very much the UK lads’ shoe, it has some more interesting details above the usual cheap metallic trimmings —

Aside from the inners’ stripes, the tongues’ oversize Starcrest motif, and the ‘Since 1983’ embossed on the Heel Counter, the particular standout detail is the Starcrest tread pattern —

Check out the images and decide for yourself – if it’s your thing it’s available now at Very in the UK, alongside some more usual treatments of the ’83 Classic. ~BokOne
