Very tidy collab with UK’s ever-popular Size? store, mixing a gum outsole with a Burgundy waxed upper. Apparently limited to just 500 pairs, if they’re not already gone I’m sure they’ll go soon… (yep, sizes are now limited) Size? UK —BokOne
I’m a few days late reporting these, but Reebok has a Gore-Tex clad Workout Plus on the way to market shortly. These are really appealing to me, with a no-nonsense workman-like upper, black/red hiking laces with metal plackets, and the black midsole/outsole grounding things superbly. Great job Reebok! “The original Workouts were first introduced in 1986 as a fitness trainer, the Workout Plus were later introduced in the 1990’s as an updated silhouette of the original. – Size?” Er, slightly wrong there, Size? I think you need to double-check your Reebok history here on Retrobok… The OG Workout was ’85, with the Workout Plus (with extra toe box reinforcement and tweaked heel tab) was ’86. Available now at Size? – each image links directly over. —BokOne
Checking out the Reebok USA store I found these awesome sister shoes to the recent CL Trails’. Mixing the silhouette of the ’85 Workout Plus Mid with the practicalities of a Trail shoe such as the ’87 Fell Runner but using the latest materials and manufacturing techniques, these are a brutal colourway and look hugely practical. In this case, the Fell Runners’ sole design isn’t used like in the CL Trail – instead the sole used on the Night Sky Mid – with the pattern of the Reebok Classics‘ but with a tougher style . Sadly they don’t seem to be available on the UK store which is a huge shame – perhaps Reebok could consider stocking these for the UK winter? 🙂 More pics of this great looking hybrid after the jump. ~BokOne
I can’t help feeling that Reebok have somewhat over-done the number of releases celebrating the 25th anniversary of the legendary Workout Plus shoe. Amongst the 15 releases (not helped by the confusing press photo showing 17 designs) were a very handsome pair from Swedens’ Cheap Monday, which were then paired with a similiarly-treated 30th Anniversary of the Freestyle Hi. Confused by all of this? I don’t blame you. But certainly the dual black denim treatment from Cheap Monday does these shoes a lot of justice. I just wish Reebok were a little clearer with their marketing…

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Reebok Workout Plus, Reebok commisioned 15 international sneaker stores to create unique versions of the legendary shoe. These include the likes of Atmos, Beatnic, Mita, Patta, SNS, Foot Patrol and Solebox. Each store is reputedly stocking all 15 of the anniversary models and were released on February 15th 2012.

Following on from last years’ all-white Vintage pack – consisting of a White colourway of the Workout Plus, plus Vintage-treated Classics and Ex-O-Fits, this Red and Blue pack has just surfaced over at Sneaker Freaker. No word on release dates that I can see yet, but will keep an eye out.
